Insecurity in
Grand Forks
It’s estimated that more than 66,000 people in North Dakota experience food insecurity. That’s 1 in 12 people facing the threat of hunger. The data for children is even worse, with 1 in 7 kids uncertain when their next meal might be. And Grand Forks is no exception. Residents often don’t realize how many of their neighbors struggle to have enough food to eat. That’s why Blue Zones Project – Grand Forks and Grand Forks Public Health are working together to raise awareness about the challenges Grand Forks residents may have with food insecurity, as we try to find solutions to the problem in our community. Hunger is here, but so are we!
