Living better, longer in Grand Forks–
a certified Blue Zones Community®
Blue Zones Project® encourages changes in communities that make healthy choices easier and more accessible. When an entire community participates—from its worksites and schools to its restaurants and grocery stores—the small changes contribute to huge benefits for all: lowered healthcare costs, improved productivity, and ultimately, a higher quality of life.
Blue Zones Project and partners are proud to have reached goals for transformative change and well-being improvement across Grand Forks. The local Project operated in the community from 2022 – 2025, with Blue Zones Community certification achieved in November 2025. It is the first community in the state of North Dakota to achieve Blue Zones certification.
Thank you to our well-being champions across Grand Forks who supported Blue Zones Project in their organizations, at home, and with their family, friends, and communities.
